Mixed Media Artist, Poet, Photographer

ARTIST BIO

I was born in Siberia (USSR), grew up in Ukraine, lived in Ireland and moved to California in 1999. Mathematician by degree, I devoted my time to visual art and poetry, experimenting with different techniques and possibilities. In 2016 I started to collaborate with Arte Flamenco de San José, creating numerous posters and cards, as well as providing artwork for their shows. In 2017 I created sets for plays at Shoestring Theater. For more than a decade I collaborated with Village School creating sets for various fundraisers and events, such as their Haunted Forest and Halloween Carnival. In 2023 I was diagnosed with cancer which made me even more aware of the urgency in developing my art. In 2024 I joined The Alameda Artworks artist community, where I work in my studio, network with fellow artists, and participate in various events and open studios. In August 2024 I was invited to be a contributing artist in creating a mural in a memory care facility. Since 2016 I have been collaborating with various non-profits to assist in fundraising, poster design, and set decorations. My work has been displayed in many physical exhibitions as well as over 35 online juried shows. Currently I am getting ready for another round of SVOS as well as continuing with my rotating exhibits and expanding my horizons, constantly learning new techniques and exploring new materials.
