Fiddleheads
Wildfires are unfortunately a part of life in California. Scorched earth, burnt forests, scarred memories. But despite the horrors, the earth recovers, and the ferns are often the first brave living creatures to emerge at the burn sites. growing from deep underground roots called rhizomes, ferns rapidly re-sprout weeks after a fire, covering scorched earth with the vibrant green as the first sight of the forest regeneration. Leaves appeared as the tightly curled spirals before unfurling into a fully formed fronds.
Wooden base made from reclaimed weathered wood with dull colors resembling ashes. Pyrography on a base represents the traces of burns left by the wildfires on the surface of the planet.
