Unfolding

Life is a growth process, and flowers are not an exception.

Unfolding the petals, transforming from a bud to a fully developed flower is like being a teenager — slightly unbalanced, leaning to one side, feeling unstable, and relying heavily on the support of others. You have to be careful with this one, as, true to the nature of the growth process, though balanced at one moment it easily can get upset and tumble down without a warning.

Pyrography on the base, created out of reclaimed wood, represents the system of roots and surrounding grass leaves — the support system necessary for successful growing.
